OUR MISSION

Legacy Rising delivers a comprehensive financial literacy and mentorship program designed to address socioeconomic inequities. The mission is to empower underserved communities through financial education, mentorship, and resource access, fostering pathways to long-term financial independence and generational wealth.

THE MISSION

We connect mentees with professional mentors.

We serve the community by providing necessary resources and support.

We educate our mentees about finances in our comprehensive course.

"Everyone deserves a chance to live a great life, yet inequity is so prevalent. My goal is to provide opportunity for those who did not know it was available for them."

OUR CORE VALUES

Grow

Teaching personal development and educational skills that can be practically applied in business and in life. We believe growth is an ongoing, intentional journey.

Love

Teaching the power of love, empathy, and kindness to transform underserved communities from within. We believe that genuine love for one's community is the most powerful driver of sustainable change.

Act

Encouraging people to take positive, decisive action with their newly acquired knowledge and skills. Knowledge without action is potential without purpose.

Serve

The ultimate measure of our success is not the number of businesses launched, but the number of leaders who go on to serve others, creating a ripple effect of positive impact from one generation to the next.

Mentees writing down their visions

Why do we need mentorship and financial literacy?

THE VISION

Legacy Rising is a mentorship program that matches mentees in underserved communities with mentors to promote financial freedom and a positive legacy.

What is the problem?

Minority entrepreneurs may face more barriers to entry because of stereotypes, lack of security funding, lack of social capital, cultural differences, and systemic disenfranchisement.

Relationships are usually formed based on proximity and socioeconomic status, and most people remain in the same socioeconomic status throughout their lives. The U.S. poverty rate highlights these entrenched divides. In 2024, the poverty rate for Black Americans stood at 19.5%, and for Hispanic Americans at 17.0%, compared to just 8.2% for Non-Hispanic Whites [8].

What is the solution?

Social capital is significant for entrepreneurs to run a successful business and receive physical capital. By connecting mentees with successful mentors, the mentees can develop a new sphere of influence and new, professional relationships.

Legacy Rising will work to combat systemic disenfranchisement by educating mentees to become leaders in their communities. Mentees will receive the education they need to promote financial stability.  Furthermore, Legacy Rising will collaborate with political leaders to create legislation in favor of equal opportunity.
